Advanced Aquatic Therapy & Protocol Development

2 Days - 11.00 Contact Hours

At one time, a "how-to" (technique-based) approach to aquatic therapy training, learning one technique at a time, made sense. Enhancement of familiar techniques and development of new ones, though, make a problem-based,intervention-based and outcome-based approach more logical for the therapist treating a wide variety of conditions and clientele.

This workshop will help you expand your aquatic therapy "tool kit" and develop protocols to better meet client needs.

Objectives - participants will:

· understand the differences between technique-, intervention-, problem-, and outcome-based approaches to aquatic therapy.

· learn to integrate aquatic therapy techniques to treat individuals with unique and complex needs.

· demonstrate competence in developing comprehensive aquatic therapy protocols.

Prerequisites for Advanced Workshop:

Basic Aquatic Therapy Techniques or prior knowledge of hydrodynamic principles, indications, contraindications, and precautions for aquatic therapy, plus basic knowledge of Watsu®, Bad Ragaz Ring Method, Halliwick Concept and Ai Chi.
